There is still HOPE!

Just last week, I had my visa application returned back to me for the following reason: inadequate proof of funds.  My family isn't the most well-off and our bank account statements clearly reflect that.  So when I met with the Honorary Italian Consulate of Hawaii, the lady suggested that my dad write a letter stating that he is financially responsible for me just in case the issue of our funds came into question.  BUT the problem was that this letter had to be written in a specific document provided by and notarized by the Consulate.  The entire Honorary Italian Consulate in Hawaii is on vacation until August 20th.  I will be leaving for California on August 14th.  My flight out to Italy is on August 26th.  A visa application process takes about 3 to 8 weeks.  One of the requirements is to send my passport with the application.  DO YOU SEE WHY I'M FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW?!??!

But like I said before, THERE IS STILL HOPE!!

I called the San Francisco Italian Consulate this morning after failing my driver's test and having a couple other Consulates hang up on me, and told them about my current situation.  The lady on the other line said that I could just send the bank statement!!!  I can now at least rest reassured.  c:
